UNN Set To Graduate 132 First Class Students And 9,200 Others At The Convocation

Chukwuma Ozumba, who was accompanied by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Prof Charles Igwe; Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics, Prof James Ogbonna; Deputy Vice Chancellor, deans of faculties, heads of department and other principal officers of the University disclosed in a press briefing at Enugu that it would graduate 9,298 Students and confer doctorate degrees on three prominent Nigerians( Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar-Sultan of Sokoto,Chairman of Slok Group-His Excellency,Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, Chairman of Zenith Bank-Jim Ovia)during its 47th Convocation.He also said that the total number of graduands,first degree,diploma and certificate recorded 7,830 with 132 coming out in First Class.1, 468 are in postgraduate degrees,982 for master’s degree and 155 for postgraduate diplomas.

Ozumba also disclosed that the university would be conferring the title of Professor Emeritus on eight of their
renowned professors who had served the institution meritoriously and are still making invaluable contributions to their academics.
He also used the opportunity to brief his achievements in the university in recent times such as his plans to produce made-in-UNN laptops and mapping out 45.9 hectares of land for Science Park Project.
