On Friday, 3rd of November, 2017 the Faculty of Education Judicial Council sat concerning a petition written by one, Mr. Ajisegiri from 300 Level, Adult Education and received on the 14th of October, 2017. The Social Director of the National University Education Students Association (NUESA); Mr. Iyofor Nelson was suspended indefinitely during the sitting on the grounds of disrespect to the court and illegal involvement in the oath form fee collection alongside the General Secretary, the Academic, the Public Relations Officer and Welfare Director in the ongoing oath form scandal.
The Faculty Judicial Council chaired by CJ Osungboun Samson deemed it fit to suspend the Social Director, Mr. Iyofor Nelson for being involvement in this scandal. The president earlier on the 27th October, 2017 pointed fingers at the Public Relations Officer, General Secretary, the Academic and Welfare Director and the Social Director as the ones who were in charge of the collection of the #200 fee paid by Fresh educators for the signing of the oath form.
This issue which was brought to light through a petition and has generated mixed feelings among educators. It should be noted that the Central Executive Council headed by Comrade Awonusi Orimidara Joseph could not provide the list of fresh educators who paid the #200 meant for the oath form after the General Secretary claimed he had discarded the document because of its irrelevance when he was cleaning the secretariat and could not phantom the number of Educators who paid for the oath form and they all also could not agree on and come out what the extra charge was used for.
The Central Executive Council was given an ultimatum of 72-hours to provide the names of fresh Educators who paid for the oath form. This shocking revelation couldn’t come at a worse time with the faculty hall week coming up, and as the Social Director is presently out of the Executive council it births question as to what is going to happen in this coming week in the Mother of all Faculties.
